Health Research Marketing Manager

Status: Full-time, permanent

Location: Rockville, Maryland

Education: B.S. or B.A. in health science or related field; or a combination of a degree in communications, journalism, or related field and health-related experience.

Experience:

  • Previous Federal contracting experience required
  • At least 10 years of experience with health policy, health research, or health care service delivery
  • Experience leading and working with interdisciplinary teams
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to translate technical and scientific material for lay audiences
  • Proficiency in project management and developing marketing plans
  • Superior client service skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize project work appropriately, based on client’s changing needs
  • Able to interact effectively with health professionals in various settings
  • Flexible and adaptable working in a team environment

Responsibilities:

  • Generate and implement innovative strategies and tactics for translating Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality [AHRQ]-funded research into a wide range of health care settings
  • Develop strategies for translating AHRQ-funded research into everyday practice settings, such as research findings applicable to hospitals or physician offices
  • Develop and disseminate collateral educational/promotional materials that explain health services research findings in plain language
  • Develop marketing plans and key messages to improve communication with stakeholder audiences
  • Lead collaborative teams of health services researchers and health industry experts toward common goals for research implementation on long-term and short-term projects
  • Manage a mix of short-term and long-term research translation projects through federal policy clearances
