Home News AHRQ Contract Parallels MasiMax's Mission
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) awarded a contract to MasiMax that parallels the company's mission, Advancing Knowledge Exchange for a Safe and Healthy Society. MasiMax's contract is with AHRQ's Office of Communications and Knowledge Transfer (OCKT), which translates and disseminates AHRQ-funded research to an array of targeted audiences. MasiMax is advising on long-range strategic communications planning and providing a team of full-time professionals who provide all types of communications support, particularly writing and editing materials for AHRQ's various audiences. MasiMax staff members also are developing and placing journal articles, conducting media and speaker training for AHRQ executives, and managing the Impact Case Studies Program.
In addition, MasiMax is conducting audience research to help AHRQ communicate better with its stakeholders, and also is developing new Web-based products for AHRQ, such as the "Doc Alerts" that transmit recommendations and other electronic communications tools to physicians via their hand-held devices. The project team members also are conducting Web-based outreach and knowledge transfer activities such as Web chats and Webcasts with researchers and other audiences. Further, they are managing AHRQ's communications outreach to Hispanic audiences, including cultivating Hispanic spokespersons within AHRQ and conducting Hispanic media and speaker training. The contract also requires MasiMax project staff to represent AHRQ in exhibits and meetings with external organizations.
