MasiMax Resources, Inc., headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, and with a branch office in Reston, Virginia, recently launched a 4-month celebration of 10 years in business. The theme of this milestone is “Growth by Design, Desire, and Dedication.”
“We’ve made great strides during the past 10 years and expect to be even more successful in the years ahead,” says MasiMax President and CEO, Marilyn Massey-Ball, M.P.H. She added, “Many new companies fail within their first 5 years, but we beat the odds of survival. MasiMax is marching on for the next 10 years!”
Originally founded as a sole proprietorship in 1993, MasiMax marks its corporate anniversary from the year in which it received its first multiyear, multimillion-dollar contract with the National Cancer Institute. The company’s 10th anniversary coincides with its recent graduation from the Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) program. A minority- and woman-owned firm with approximately 140 employees, MasiMax remains qualified as a Small Disadvantaged Business under SBA’s Office of Small Disadvantaged Business Certification and Eligibility.
MasiMax’s slogan, Advancing Knowledge Exchange for a Safe and Healthy Society, reflects its mission and long-standing commitment to the health and well-being of the Nation’s citizens. MasiMax provides a host of services and products (including publications services, communication services, conference and exhibit management, research and analysis, technical assistance and training, information management and dissemination, and environmental health and safety services) to the Federal Government, State governments, and various public and private organizations. The achievement of 10 successful years in business reflects the company’s excellent past-performance record.
Ms. Massey-Ball attributes much of the company’s success to hiring and retaining talented, committed staff; maintaining high customer satisfaction; implementing effective strategic planning; and practicing prudent fiscal management. In addition, MasiMax’s products and services have become dramatically more sophisticated and diverse during the past decade. A mid-August picnic for employees and their families as well as for corporate consultants and vendors kicked off a series of events that will culminate in a holiday party this December. But it’s not all fun and games. Each corporate service area will chronicle its evolution on the company’s Web site, www.masimax.com, and employees will collaborate on a 10-year company report and a paper on knowledge exchange.
