MasiMax and Partners Awarded SAMHSA Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Web and Extranet Site Contract

MasiMax, in partnership with MayaTech Corporation and Aquilent, Inc., was selected to perform Web services for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Combining their experience in substance abuse and mental health with their superior communication and technical skills, MasiMax, MayaTech, and Aquilent will support site, content, and functionality design, development, implementation, and maintenance as well as perform site management and evaluation. This work will support SAMHSA, the National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information's Prevention Online (PREVLINE), and other Web and Extranet sites. "This important contract award provides us with access to an important U.S. Department of Health and Human Services agency and the opportunity to expand our Web development business," says Scott Crocket, Vice President of MasiMax's Communications and Information Technology Services.

The project team will be led by Mr. Crocket, who will serve as the Project Director, and will consist of systems analysts, Web programmers and masters, database managers and programmers, social marketing specialists, research analysts, user experience leads, policy and public health advisers, and editorial staff members.

As stated in the project team's proposal, submitted to SAMHSA's Division of Contracts Management, "Good Web sites can influence behavior and inspire people to learn more." MasiMax and its partners understand this and will provide SAMHSA's Web and Extranet sites with usability, maintainability, scalability, security, and expandability. The winning technical proposal submitted and followup oral presentation prove that MasiMax, MayaTech, and Aquilent have the technical skills and content expertise necessary to help advance SAMHSA's humanist mission—a life in the community for everyone.

The team has outstanding experience in science translation for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and the public; cultural and linguistic adaptation; the preparation of media services to fit multiple formats; and Web support to various Federal agencies, including SAMHSA's Center for Substance Abuse Prevention and Center for Substance Abuse Treatment.

The Web and Extranet site contract commenced on April 23 and will continue through 2008, with the potential for four additional option years through contract modification. Seven phases—planning, research, and analysis; design; implementation; quality control; launching and promotion; evaluation; and maintenance and innovation—will be used to carry out SAMHSA's project initiatives.
