To Provide Outsourced IT Infrastructure in Support of Growing Client Requirements
SAVVIS IT Utility Services To Serve As MasiMax IT Infrastructure Framework Based on Demands For Flexibility, Scalability, and Removing "The Burden of IT"
SAVVIS Federal Systems (SFS), Inc., a member of the SAVVIS, Inc. family of companies (NASDAQ:SVVS), and a leading global provider of managed and outsourced IT services to the Federal government, today announced that MasiMax Resources, Inc., a leader in providing high-quality health communications services to government and commercial clients, has chosen to engage SAVVIS' virtualized IT utility services in support of its growing corporate and client needs for powerful, technology-driven program management and information dissemination solutions.
Based in the Rockville, MD, MasiMax Resources researches, assesses, manages, and disseminates public health and safety information for use by policymakers, researchers, program providers, and the general public.
Under the terms of the agreement, SFS will deploy its managed hosting services and network connectivity to enhance MasiMax's IT infrastructure with the power and flexibility required to support the dynamic IT needs of its clients, whose list includes the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). With the recent award of USAID's high-profile, 5-year, $36 million contract for Analysis, Information Management and Communications (AIM) Activity of the Bureau of Global Health, MasiMax has vastly increased its responsibility for the implementation of innovative, virtualized server and storage utilities and managed security utility services, which will be ensured through enlistment of the SFS virtualized IT utility services platform.
The SAVVIS platform will allow MasiMax to quickly and easily add server and storage capabilities as its business continues to grow. These on-demand IT utility services, based on virtualized hardware and automated management systems, are particularly well-suited for companies with multifaceted and intensive computing, storage, and security needs. MasiMax will choose from SAVVIS' full range of industry-leading service level agreements, which range from application needs to server enhancements.
"By outsourcing our Internet hosting and IT network infrastructure, we are eliminating the burden that typically comes with purchasing and managing IT hardware and software," said Marilyn Massey-Ball, President and CEO of MasiMax Resources, Inc. "More importantly, SAVVIS frees us up to focus on critical business activities as well as value-added customer service, enabling us to mobilize faster and maximize results with better margins."
"The Federal Government is increasingly demanding secure, flexible, and on-demand computing power from its IT vendors," said Don Teague, Vice President of SAVVIS Federal Systems. "For more than 10 years, SAVVIS has been building an IT utility infrastructure modeled to provide higher availability, better service level agreements, and on-demand scalability, and we look forward to serving MasiMax's IT objectives in support of their current corporate challenges, such as those involved with the USAID award."
Headquartered in Herndon, VA, SFS is a wholly owned subsidiary of SAVVIS Communications Corporation ("SAVVIS") and specializes in the unique information technology needs of the U.S. Federal Government's departments and agencies. SFS offers the full range of SAVVIS services via its GSA Schedule 70 contract, including hosting, networking, digital content services, managed security services, and professional services.
